Cheryl Weatherby, L.Ac, Dipl. NCCAOM, practices within the Shen-Hammer lineage of Chinese medicine pulse diagnosis, a system utilizing over 90 diagnostic qualities found across six principal and twenty-two complementary pulse positions. She completed a 2,000-hour clinical internship at The Center for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (2006 - 2010), studied under senior instructor Ross Rosen, and later served as his associate practitioner from 2012-2020. She continues advanced training with Shen-Hammer certified instructors nationwide. In addition, Cheryl trained in Ayurvedic pulse diagnosis with Dr. Vasant Lad at The Ayurvedic Institute and through the California College of Ayurveda’s Pancha Karma certification program. The pyscho-emotional and physical health information revealed by these systems allow for discernment of a disease process at a very early stage.
Cheryl is a graduate of The Natural Gourmet Institute and received training in Chinese dietary therapies during her graduate studies at Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine. Her clinical herbal education includes traditional Chinese herbal medicine, Kampo (Sino-Japanese) herbology, and homeopathy. Cheryl created “The Little Herb That Could: Food as Medicine,” a live educational and dining experience that weaves together Western nutrition science, Chinese and Ayurvedic dietary principles, botanical medicine, and integrative clinical insight. She maintains a 106-acre traditional herbal farm in rural Missouri where she cultivates medicinal plants and studies soil ecology.
Cheryl completed the Russian Birth Project’s classical midwifery internship in St. Petersburg, participating in 27 births and performing pre-natal and postpartum exams in both hospital and home settings. She is certified in biodynamic craniosacral therapy, manual lymphatic drainage, Chi Nei Tsang Taoist abdominal massage, Aryuveda and Nuad-Bo Rarn Thai yoga therapy.
Her clinical background includes work in private practice, physician offices, integrative medicine centers, community clinics, and the VA Health Administration via clinical externship. Cheryl has trained in human dissection through Somanautics Workshops and taught gross anatomy for the Laboratories of Anatomical Enlightenment.
